Boris Johnson suffered a brutal double By-Election defeat yesterday as Lib Dems overturned Conservative 24,000 majority in Tiverton and Honiton and Labour won back Wakefield , the strong
Labour seat taken by Tories in 2019.
Conservative Chairman, Oliver Dowden, has resigned after these major defeats, saying, “We cannot continue with business as usual. Somebody must take responsibility and I have concluded that in these circumstances it would not be right for me to stay in office.”
More pressure on Boris Johnson.

From what was said on the national news last night, it was expected to happen that way .

I wonder if this is the bloody nose that causes BJ to amend his disregard for the British People, and to give up his darkest ambition to become Dictator. While aware this was merely by-elections, it combined with past nose smacking events, should indicate to BJ his outlaw days are numbered, and it is a reality check that this could easily transpose to the GE.

Protest voting ... virtually meaningless in the long term.

I think they call it strategic voting, in any event Boris promptly put his hands over his eye, claimed nothing to see here and vowed to carry on to the next disaster. Senor Conservatives are seething and are once again plotting, the honorable resignation of Oliver Dowden, Conservative Party leader has them squirming in their shoes.

I see the by- election results as more of a protest against Boris than the Conservative Party. Given what we know about him Boris comes across as deeply arrogant and reeking of entitlement. Oliver Dowden is well- respected within the Conservative Party.

At last. The writing is on the walls throughout the country.
By no means an advocate of such as Military Rule, in our Democratic country.
But we could well do, with those MP's with an Active Service background. Emerging from the Backbench woodwork. And taking up Ministerial roles.
Utilising Chartered Professional and Learned Institutions as Advisory.
Converse to.
Radical and Dyed in the Wool, of what ever colour. Civil Servants their Agencies and Odd Jobbers.
The closer to a Levelled up population. The closer to a Nation of National Unity.
Pulling together for the common good, prosperity. "And Respect".

Boris can't seem to take what has become more than a hint now. Tory grandees from a more honourable age are calling for his head and one, Chris Patten, was only saying recently that he doesn't recognise the Conservative party of today. I would tend to agree with that. Johnson certainly needs ousting before he can inflict any more harm on the country and the party he purports to serve.
Tobias Elwood seems like an honourable fellow who could replace Johnson, but perhaps the party does need some time on the 'naughty step' away from the levers of power come a general election in order to rediscover some of the decent values the party once stood for.

Too late for me quin ...
I want this party gone , and i don't mean the ones at number ten , the conservatives had their chance in the confidence vote on BJ, and the front benches chose to stick ... this shows me they are all as bad and like minded , One showed a bit of gumption early this morning but we'll see where that goes ....

<< Concurs with the above. And equally ashamed, of how the party has allowed the most 'Inept' within. To project its core principles.
All the overtones of simply finding a Fall Guy. To carry the cans of accumulated and inherited maggots. Which with Filibustering pantomime, has dragged us further into the mire.
Never say Never. We have done it before. We could do it again.
